Brellum Wyvern GMT Chronometer-Silver Dial

Updated: Apr 24, 2022

Brellum is a independent brand located in Jura Switzerland and is owned by Sebastien Muller a 4th generation watch maker with a keen eye on developing high-end timepieces with exceptional quality. Sébastien's commitment to quality is outstanding with all watches being hand assembled in a dust-free climate controlled zone. The COSC certified movements are tested over a period of 15-days according to the ISO 3159 standard. The Wyvern GMT Chronometer comes in at $2450 with bracelet or $2270 on a rubber band.

The Wyvern exudes elegance and sophistication in the dial design with great legibility in a slim and compact design just at 42.30mm and 10.90mm thick.

Moving up close to the dial The outline of blue on the indices are done very well with the lume seated nicely within them. The print on logo is very crisp and clean and easily legible. The dial is clean from large dust or debris particles indicative of great attention to detail.

The date window is cut nicely and really enjoy the fact that they didn't have a metal frame or just a simple cutout. The white almost lacquered frame is very subtle while the date stands out to be easily read.

The diamond cut hands filled with Superluminoa are cut extremely well. Very little to no dust on the or debris on the hands.

The case has a very fine brushing sandwiched between two layers of polished casing. the brushing is some of the finest I've seen in this price range.

The crown is non-screwdown, but is very easy to use and according to Brellum a precious stone known as the Carbuncle is encrusted unto the Wyverns forehead, which is discretely embedded into the crown of the watch. The detail is superb at this level of magnification.

The lugs and fit on the integrated Stainless Steel Bracelet fits perfectly and contours the wrist nicely. The bracelet or the rubber band fit very easily into the lugs. Although there is no quick release spring bars for the bracelet it is very easy to remove.

The 5 link bracelet is comfortable and finely finished. The bracelet pin and color system is a bit tough to remove so if you decide to pick one up you may want to order the correct size or be skilled at removing the pins with the right tools. I for sure had to use a watchmakers hammer for removal and putting pack the bracelet together.

The clasp is solid however there is no option for micro-adjustments so making sure to order the right size is imperative. A two button pusher system is sturdy and secure. The etching on the clasp is smooth and the engraving is spot on.

The case-back I find to be absolutely gorgeous, and is exactly what you would expect to see from $2k+ watch. The movement is a COSC certified Brellum BR-893-GMT movement (ETA base), with perlage, geneva stripes, with blue screws. The COSC certificate is included as well.

The back of the watch really shines with the brushing being smooth and fine just like the case. It is important to note that the outside engravings are actually smooth from being covered with a thin lacquer so its more comfortable when sitting on the wrist. The custom rotor has Brellum's Wyvern on it witch is nice to see this here and not on the dial or elsewhere.

With the cut of the indices and the layout makes the lume really stand out on this piece. The Superluminova is very solid and layered well across the dial.

My final thoughts on the Brellum Wyvern GMT is that this is an absolutely amazing watch! The design, finish, specs, service and most importantly the quality is well worth the money. Sébastien does some amazing work with his design and dedication in putting forth a quality timepiece. When first receiving my Wyvern it came packaged securely, with a leather single watch travel case, all the necessary tools and he was even kind of enough to include a rubber strap for me.

I look forward to picking up either a Pandial or a Duobox from him in the future. Overall Brellum I would highly recommend.
